Common Carp

Post by Tucker on Thu Aug 16, 2012 12:43 pm

Does anyone have any experience on whether Common Carp differ to Mirrors in terms of their feeding tastes / habbits?

Why are certain baits / ingredients deemed a bit special for Common Carp or is this a Myth based on little factual evidence. If you trawl through the Internet long enough you will see Vitamin B3, Mollasses, Cassia terpenes Essential Oil, Active CSL, Fermenting Maize, yellow baits and Nuts all mentioned. What is it about these ingredients / baits that make them attractive to Common Carp.

I would say it's a myth, imho. There is no bait that singles one type of carp, more than another

the only difference i have ever found between the two is that commons have tended to fight harder.

Common carp were brought to the country by monks in the 1300's, for food. The mirror strain was reared, so they didn't have to de-scale the fish, to cook them
