Historical Carp Waters book
As some people will know my new book, ‘Historical Carp Waters’ has just been published by The Little Egret Press and any lovers of The Special Album thread will I’m sure be up for this book. At over 400-pages with 320 pictures (some which haven’t seen the light of day before) plus special drawings by three highly talented artists will make the book appealing to many who are interested in the origins of some of the most important carp fisheries in the country.

It’s not solely about the south of England or the Colne Valley for that matter, but covers a wide variety of lakes (and one river) from Lincolnshire, Cheshire and Nottinghamshire in the North, to Surrey, Sussex and Kent in the South.

The book has such stories as Jack Hilton’s quest for winter carp in waters unaffected in anyway by artificially warmed waters, such as power station outlets. He recorded a set of captures in the early 1970s from one lake that set the angling world alight.
