discussing fishing on the 'first' date?

Post by Guest on Thu Jul 04, 2013 12:40 pm

ok - this is a bit tongue in cheek

so you meet this lovely girl - she accepts your invite to dinner

all going well as the conversation and wine flows

so, who would then tell her that you go fishing all night or at the crack of dawn - leaving her in a cold and lonely bed?

be honest guys

i'm looking forward to the replies?

Early days, but later after she finds out, its a choice, her or a fish.

but then she might be a plod or nurse and leave you in that bed.Very Happy

If you want one who understands/joins you, then make it clear up front - if you want you solitude and escapism from them, don't enter a relationship Very Happy

I'm lucky, my wife loves fishing and we go together so never an issue of a cold bed Laughing

i'll admit that in the past my 'obsession' with fishing cost me a marriage and a relationship

now older and perhaps wiser I see the error of my ways?

truthfully - and no reflection on the post by Chris - i'd not want a partner who wants to fish -but at the same time I have no problem with a partner who comes shooting with me

double standards you quite rightly cry - but driven game shooting or some 'walked up' is by its nature a 'social' sport - fishing to me is about isolation and to quote the old cliché 'being at one with nature'

I choose to fish alone - maybe because i'm such a grumpy sod?

but in the past I've gone with others and feel my fishing has been compromised - time to meet/swims to fish etc etc

and the idea of 'socials' chills me to the bone

Bob. I agree fishing can be compromised by a partner. I find my river fishing is as due to health reasons of my wife we have to be fairly static. this is fine on lakes as I can go off stalking but not so easy on rivers where I don't feel so safe leaving her alone.
I am however lucky as i'm allowed to go fishing on my own so get the best of both worlds!!

both sexes need "breathing space" and not live in each others pockets.Very Happy

we went to go to a 'social event' in Highgate - Mandy was wearing a pink jumpsuit - no knickers as per the norm - we had a very intimate dance and suddenly Mandy had 'dark patches' appearing in the crotch of her pink jump suit!!!

and no! - we left and went to Wheelers for dinner - catch up was later!
