Perch Fishing

Post by Bob on Fri May 03, 2013 7:41 am

Anyone into Perch fishing ?

They have always been one of my favourite species and I usually spend a lot of my fishing time after them in the winter.

Last winter I got a bit side tract by Chub, but still managed a few Perch trips to the Lea Navigation and had one morning when I dropped onto a shoal, catching a 21/2, 31/4 and a 4 Laughing

I like using small livebaits or worms for my Perch fishing, but if I was younger and fitter it would be drop shotting and light lures that would be my preferred method.

How do others fish for Perch ?

Talking with another angler today and he uses frozen peeled prawns for Perch as most other species leave them alone.

I tried Prawns and a small club lake a little while ago and all I caught was Carp ?

At least they kept the Snotties away !!

He did say that carp were still attracted to it, but better than hundreds of silverfish.
