STOP THE KILLER OTTERS (GIANT RATS)

Post by HAPPYANGLERALEX on Wed Jan 09, 2013 10:21 pm

Just signed the petition to stop the invasion of these giant water rats destroying our fish in rivers, lakes, pits, garden ponds.

yes between, otters, cormorants, pollution, floods, lack of restocking, diminishing stocks, chaps from over there, sewerage, extraction, the old golden days of rammed out lakes, ie. large shoals of bream, tench, roach, perch and carp, are long gone.

Its strange, that while angling is on the increase, the fish are disappearing.
raw sewerage is allowed to be put into the Thames at Chelsea, at certain times, against EU LAW.

It is sad mate
Roll back 10 or 20 years ago and we could go fishing without a care in the world
Nowadays you find yourself always looking over your shoulder and wondering if your fish are still in your lake Sad

When I was a boy, large shoals of bream, 50/100 strong, big bronze bream, not silly little ones, large shoals of tench, not isolated ones, swarms of perch, not the odd one or two, huge shoals of roach, going mad for hemp, and minnows and gudgeon in jars.

the golden days of angling are long gone, never to return, sad. but at least we fished them.

not me, but could have been, started at fishing highgate ponds and canal at caledonian road north london, wonderful days in a different world when kids were safe to roam.

we might be more technologically advanced, now, but life has taken a down turn, on all fronts.
it makes one wonder where its all leading to. Question
