i have had two toy cars recently. owned an mx-5 and dont care what people say, they are proper fun. now i have a merc c class as my fishing car. i look at it now with dissappointment as its just another euro box. a great car but has no character.

VW Golf GT TDI (PD150) No comparison to most of the above cars, but it's cheap to run and fits the gear in a treat with the rear seats dropped.

I've got a BMW E36 323 straight 6 M sport Touring bored out to a 2.5. I love this car almost as much as I love fishing, couldn't imagine driving anything else, the only thing that makes me cringe is the fuel bill Shocked
the switch stays firmly in economy mode

Range Rover Vogue - 4.4V8 (yes petrol)

superb car and now prices are dropping to 'family car' prices - but its still at £70K plus car when it comes to maintenance - lol!

need just the glass for drivers door mirror (electrochromatic) £158 plus VAT for a piece of glass!!

Ford Focus 1.6, dull, but cheap to insure and maintain.

Saving a fighting fund for a Discovery Mk1 though...

Have a Chevvy Lacetti estate on a 56 plate, not everyones cup of tea and I'm sure will have a lot of people laughing but apart from being a little thirsty not had a single problem with it in over a year.
Sailed through the last MOT and have only had to top the oil up twice.

Still hard to beat one of them, is it right they've dropped the type r now? Never forget having a test drive years ago, that engine is outstanding!!!

Currently have a Mk5 gti and having been a carping pikey since starting driving and missing out on the boy racer stage, i've had a bit of a late twenty's crisis and spent a small fortune getting it to stage 3 Twisted Evil

It's not the most practical but still manage a weeks gear, bait, food,3 mtr inflatable, a minn kota and two lesuire batteries in the back!

Seem to be looking at m5 estates more and more, but doing around 25k a year and their mpg i really, really shouldnt!!!!!
