It could be me but are fishing forums going quieter and the average age of posters getting younger ?

mmmmmmmmmmm, quieter, as modding/sites getting more PC and banning happy on some sites.

average age younger, as the "old school" goes to that big lake in the sky.

as for myself, all I ask is for fair play and no inner circle long time poster mafia Very Happy Laughing

Forums are seasonal. Wait until it gets a bit colder or lakes start freezing. There will be plenty of people sorting through their tackle and selling their old kit ready for Christmas etc

Totally agree on the longtime poster mafia as it seems they get away with everything! Never fair consistent rules they change depending on the individual on some forums! Lot of the time those idiots dont get on the bank much and nothing more then keyboard warriors and armchair anglers !

It's seasonal - it's cold outside, less people fishing, less people with something to talk about or with fishing on their minds. As a longtime member of the Anguilla Club their site dries up in the winter but once the weather gets warmer it comes alive again.

not at all - there are however quite a few forums that are invite only and do not allow general 'viewing'

i've recently started setting up a similar type of forum but its 'specimen' related not 'carp' at all

basically its going back to the 'roots' of specimen groups - like minded individuals sharing information - Hallamshire Specimen Group and Northampton specimen Group former members being some of those 'signed up'

been a hell of a job getting in touch with a lot of people who like myself have dropped off the 'radar' and gone in their own direction in the pursuit of their fish species

at the moment we are collecting photographs from the 70's and getting them transferred to digital format - thankfully most 'specimen hunters' from that era used 'slides' so transfer is easier than other media
