Variety of bait in a season

Post by Jonboy85 on Wed Sep 12, 2012 9:08 am

I am considering adding another bait to my fishing and just wondered what the general trend is - do you guys go for one bait and stick with it or have more varieties that you use in conjunction with each other on your chosen water/s?

I use Mularky as well. Was just wondering if people use a combination of boilies, or stick with one flavour/brand throughout.

i always use combinations of bait. size, flavour, shape, colour.

i used to think that i should stick to one bait but then chopped and changed and it didnt affect the catch rate.

showed me that the actual bait isnt as important as where i was putting it.

You should always use the latest bait to be released onto the market, because once there is a new one, the carp won't eat the "Old" bait any more, why would they when there is a newer, better one?! bom

I however, am still using basemixes that I put together... Well, a while ago... and of course I don't catch anything at all.

Tend to stick with one when on a hard water for a whole season, just for the sake of confidence. That said, as I don't have the money to prebait heavily, I tend to chop and change a bit for visits to other waters..

if you're on malarkie its a no-brainer....just switch to 5th element come the colder weather....excellent winter bait.

been using Solar Club/variant mix for over 10 years - only recent change is the addition of Black Pepper Oil

it works/i catch on it better than many other anglers on the same venue/s so no reason to change

have it rolled in 14/20mm and chops - feed a mixture all the time

for 'single hookbait' approach i use Nutrabaits Pineapple and N Butyric pop ups

If its Boilies then I stick to 1 mix but do have it changed or winterised for the colder months,
I also use particle in the spring and summer and for stalking.

I use one bait summer and winter.
Sizes and shapes are all I mess around with.

I tend to stick to one boilie for July, August and most of September and use this with various pellets and bag mixes. The rest of the year i use a different bait entirely Cool

Live system all year around for me with a few bits added before its rolled. Then all I do is play with the amount of liquids I add to my hook baits dependent on time of the year.
