only one person deserves to win it this year.

its the guy who has won more than just one decent event this year. the guy with lots of olympic medals and who actually loves his sport rather using it as a means to get rich.

if what hes done this year isnt enough to win it then that will be the end of my interest in SPOTY.

IMO it should be Dave weir, a brilliant athlete who is so modest and a superb sportsman. and four golds.

I had 5 live on tuesday and this was the debate with nicky cambell. when some big wigs/former athlete's and public aired there thought's there are going to be alot of good achievement's that go unrecognised this yr.

names mentioned alot were david wier. ellie simmons, bradley wiggins, andy murry, chris hoy mo farrah. plus several i can't remember. britain as a whole has done so well that its hard to pick a winner.

were on about having a special for this yr best male female overall winner ? a couple was on about the personality side as apposed to achievement. up to the beeb i suppose to format and the public to vote.

Personality goes out of the window a little when you consider some of the previous winners!

Would have said Wiggins or Pendleton before David Weirs efforts.

The Man deserves to have a Knighthood as well as Sportsman of the Year !!
