Gary Neville On Sky

Post by Scarper on Tue Aug 21, 2012 9:10 pm

Still can't get my head around Gary Neville as a pundit on Sky.

Now I know Andy Gray wasn't to everyone's liking but I did find that when he discussed team tactics etc it was certainly worth listening to and he certainly had a passion.

Just doesn't seem the same with Gary Neville.

I much prefer Neville, I wasn't a big fan of him as a player but I have a newfound respect for him since he's become a Sky pundit. He's very current so knows the in's and out's of the modern game much better than Gray ever did. I always thought Gray spoke a load of old twaddle.

I hated him as a player but find I've warmed to him as a pundit on Sky

Agree,,, Gray got a lashing from Fregie early doors on Sky, and said nothing bad about Utd again,
As for Redknapp, Jamie, hate him.

personally i quite liked gray as a commentator. the current sky team is brilliant.
neville has been a great addition. jamie looks a bit put out by it all but again i like how it comes across.

one person that annoys me is mark lawrensons commentary. its truely terrible. he comes across as a dinosaur. oddly though i quite like his punditry. hansen can get bent though. i never seem to like anything he says.

I hated him as a player but think he is a brilliant pundit. He makes a lot of sence where most others don't.

Gary Neville is the best football pundit on TV by an absolute mile! He talks about tactics and spots things in analysis that most wouldn't see.
A lot of ex pros say 'you wouldn't understand unless you've played at this level' and I used to think what a load of BS, but have to say Neville has opened my eyes to some of the differences at the very highest level.
